Hazard Definitions:

1 Physical hazard: inexpressible

2. Health hazard: slightly hazardous to health when ingested or inhaled, and in case of skin contact. The material and its vapours may irritate the eyes, mucous membranes and respiratory tracts.

First aid measures:

1. Inhalation: remove from exposure to fresh air, provide calm conditions

2. Eye contact: flush eyes thoroughly with water jet

3. Skin contact: remove contaminated clothing, flush contaminated skin with soap and water

4. Ingestion: flush mouth, give water to drink, induce vomiting, get medical aid

5. Medical aid: necessary in case of severe exposure

Fire fighting measures:

1. Applicable extinguishing agents: foam & sand. Water only in the form of mist or spray

2. Non-applicable extinguishing agent: water in the form of a jet

3. Special risks: none, however, in the case of thermal decomposing, poisonous gases may be formed

4. Special protective equipment: none required

5. Fire hazard class: B (classification by National Emergency Control Directorate OKI)

Measures in case of accidental release to environment:

1. Personal measures: the wearing of protective equipment is obligatory; avoid contact with the material

2. Environment protection measures: material shall not be released into live waters, drain systems, but if this happened, the competent authorities shall be informed

3. General measures: absorb spilled material with sand or soil; confine the contaminated area with plenty of water; do not use open fire

Handling and storage:

1. Handling: no special handling instructions required

2. Storage: store in a dry, cool, well-ventilated area; store in a tightly closed container, as the material is highly water-absorbing; do not store together with mineral oil based materials

Personal exposure/protection control:

1. Limit values of exposure: there is no regulation for permissible concentration levels of the contaminant in work area, but its vapors may irritate respiratory organs in high concentration (above 1000 mg/m3)

2. Personal protection equipment: general protective and hygiene measures

Respiratory protection: avoid inhaling

Hand protection: wear safety gloves

Eye protection: wear safety goggles

Skin protection: wear closed protective clothing, use skin cream

Other protective appliances: eye flushing glass, safety shower

Physical and Chemical Properties:

1. Color – clean liquid, generally colorless
2. Smell – typical
3. Ph – 7.0 to 10.50
4. Boiling point – above 260°C
5. Pour point – below -50°C
6. Ignition point – above 100°C
7. Ignition temperature – above 300°C
8. Ignition point in open-air environment – undefined
9. Density at 20°C – from 1.040 to 1.090 g/ml
10. Miscibility with water – unlimited
11. Partition coefficient octyl alcohol/water – less than 2.0
12. Viscosity at 20°C – about 5 to 10 cSt
13. Vapor pressure at 20°C – less than 2 mbar
14. Vapor density – undefined
15. Evaporation point – negligible

Stability and reactivity:

1. General information: the preparation is stable, decomposition is not typical under normal circumstances

2. Conditions to avoid: contact with strong oxidants

Toxicological information:

1. Eye contact: it may slightly irritate eyes, but it cannot be classified as an eye-irritant

2. Skin contact: cannot be classified as a skin irritant material

3. Ingestion: small quantities are not hazardous, but great quantities may cause vomiting, dizziness, sickness; in extreme cases is may cause coma or eventually even death

4. Inhalation: because of the low vapor pressure it is not hazardous or harmful

5. Poisoning due to prolonged exposure: no information

Ecological information:

Disposal of the product into living water is forbidden. In high concentrations it is dangerous for fish (fish toxicity: LC 50 @ 95 hours > 100 mb/l); biological accumulation is not expected; the product does not contain PCB compounds; it is biologically degradable, but it cannot be released into living waters without biological degradation.

Disposal information:

The preparation and its contaminated packaging shall be treated according to Governemental Decree 102/1996 (VII.12 ) and EU Directive 91/689/EEC.

Transport information:

The product is not hazardous according to ADR/RID

Regulatory information:

1. The product is not hazardous according to EU classification.

2. Local regulations: the product is subject to Governmental Decree 233-1996 (XII.26.) and National Health Ministry Decree 4/1997 ( II. 21) issued for its enactment.
